Future Continuous Tense

Future Continuous Tense is used to describe an action that will be in progress at a specific time in the future.

Note: Future Continuous Tense uses will be + V1+ing
What is Future Continuous Tense?

Future Continuous Tense shows that an action will be continuing at a particular time in the future.

✔ I will be studying at 8 PM tomorrow.
✔ She will be cooking dinner tonight.
✔ They will be travelling next week.
Uses of Future Continuous Tense
  • Actions that will be happening in the future.
  • Planned future activities.

Affirmative Sentence Structure

The helping verb will be is used with all subjects.

Negative Sentence Structure

Negative sentences show that an action will not be happening at a particular time in the future.

Structure:

Subject + will not be + V1+ing + Object
✔ I will not be studying tonight.
✔ He will not be playing cricket.
✔ She will not be attending the meeting.
✔ They will not be travelling tomorrow.

Short Form:
will not = won't

Interrogative Sentence Structure

Interrogative sentences are used to ask questions about ongoing future actions.

Structure:

Will + Subject + be + V1+ing + Object?
✔ Will you be studying tonight?
✔ Will he be playing cricket?
✔ Will she be attending the meeting?
✔ Will they be travelling tomorrow?

Remember:
Will comes before the subject.

WH Question Sentences

WH Questions begin with What, Why, When, Where, Who, Which, and How.

Remember: After will be, always use V1 + ing.
